Prof. Dr. Luke Pittaway, Professor of Entreprenurship, Ohio University (United States)

Prof. Dr. Luke Pittaway is the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs in the College of Business at Ohio University, he was previously the Chair of the Department of Management and Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship.  Dr. Pittaway is also the O'Bleness Professor of Entrepreneurship.  He has helped start and grow multiple Centers for Entrepreneurship in the UK and the US.   His research focuses on entrepreneurship education and learning and he has a range of other interests including: entrepreneurial behavior; networking; entrepreneurial failure; business growth; and, corporate venturing.  Currently, his work focuses on the role of infrastructure in entrepreneurship education; he is exploring how universities can use entrepreneurship education to assist the establishment of entrepreneurial ecosystems in constrained environments; and, researching how doctoral programs develop entrepreneurship educators in the US.  In 2018 Dr. Pittaway was nominated and selected to be USASBE's Entrepreneurship Educator of the Year.

 

Prof. Dr. Marcus Dejardin, Professor of Economics, Leuven and Namur (Belgium)

Marcus Dejardin is Professor of Economics at the Université catholique de Louvain and the Université de Namur. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor and the Effective Coordinator of the open program ‘Entrepreneurship in the Modern Economy’ at the Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam. Marcus is the director of the Chair of Excellence for Research and Expertise in Entrepreneurship – CHEREE, and of the Centre for Research in Regional Economics and Economic Policy – CERPE, a constituent part of the research institute Development Finance and Public Policies – DeFiPP – Université de Namur; an academic member of CIRTES – LIDAM, Université catholique de Louvain. He also serves as a member of the Central Economic Council and of the National Productivity Board of Belgium. He has published several articles in renowned international journals, including PLoS One, Applied Economics, Small Business Economics, The Annals of Regional Science; and several books.

Marcus Dejardin has developed expertise in the economics of entrepreneurship and innovation, regional economics, and public policy analysis.
